Zelensky: Sanctions against Russia must be imposed now and they must be strong

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this on Telegram , referring to his conversation with American journalist Fareed Zakaria during the 2026 Yalta European Strategy meeting, according to Ukrinform. "Sanctions must be imposed now. Sanctions must be strong. This is a tool available to the United States to deprive Russia of the ability to finance the war against Ukraine every day. And, frankly, I sometimes do not understand why decisions cannot be made quickly. Because during a war, it is sometimes better to make a less-than-perfect decision than to do nothing," he said.
