Oracle (ORCL)’s Licensing Terms Draw the Same EU Scrutiny that Just Cost SAP Concessions

The licensing practices of Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) are on the radar of European Union antitrust regulators, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters on September 1, in a case similar to one involving German rival SAP SE (NYSE:SAP) that was settled with concessions in July. The European Commission, the EU's competition enforcer, is seeking information from third parties on the issue, which could either help build a case or lead regulators to drop it if no evidence of wrongdoing turns up. Oracle did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
