The difference is getting harder to ignore. BYD exported 183,746 vehicles during the month, up 130.8% from a year earlier. Tesla China exported 36,119, down 45.5% from July. Through August, BYD had shipped about 1.13 million vehicles abroad from China, compared with roughly 331,000 for Tesla China.
