Investing.com -- SpaceX is set to receive a significantly larger weighting in the Nasdaq 100 later this month, a change that could trigger billions of dollars in buying from passive funds tracking the index, Bloomberg reported on Saturday. The rocket and satellite company's weighting is expected to increase to about 2.82% from roughly 1.28%, according to pro forma data from Nasdaq's Global Index Watch circulated late Friday. The final weighting will be determined later this month. Wall Street expects the adjustment to generate billions of dollars in purchases from index funds and exchange-traded funds that track the Nasdaq 100. Among the largest vehicles affected is the Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1, which has about $481 billion in assets.
