Sweden election: Center-left coalition leads initial polls

Polls closed in Sweden's general election on Sunday where the center-left opposition is hoping to return to power after four years , as the far right hoped to enter government for the first time. According to a post election survey by the ‌Novus polling agency, ​the centre-left bloc held 51.3% support against 47% ​for the governing right-wing ⁠bloc. Ahead of the election, opinion polls had predicted an easy win for the left-wing alliance over the right-wing group led by incumbent Ulf Kristersson , which includes the far-right party Sweden Democrats. But the four-party opposition alliance, led by former Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson, the head of the center-left Social Democrats, had seen that lead narrow as election day has neared.
