America's central bank, the Federal Reserve, will meet on September 15-16 in Washington. It will announce its interest rate decision at 2:00 pm US time (11:30 pm IST) on September 16, followed by a press conference by Fed Chair Kevin Warsh. This is one of four meetings a year at which the Fed also shares its outlook on where interest rates are headed. US interest rates have remained unchanged at 3.50%-3.75% since July. However, a few members pushed back at the time, arguing that rates needed to rise as prices in the US were increasing faster than the Fed was comfortable with.
