Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, made this statement during a television broadcast, according to Ukrinform. “Even the launch of cruise missile carriers that fire ‘Kalibrs’ is taking place directly at their base, that is, right in the harbor. This is a trend that has been observed for the fourth consecutive month,” Pletenchuk noted. He noted that the Russians use cruise missiles relatively rarely. According to him, there have been two such launches this month, and over the summer, the maximum number of launches was three. Pletenchuk noted that Russia potentially has up to four vessels capable of launching cruise missiles from the Black Sea: two “Buyan-M” class surface ships and two “Varshavyanka” class submarines.
