The Federal Reserve begins a two-day policy meeting Tuesday, September 15, ahead of an interest rate decision that could influence borrowing costs for North Texas households and businesses. The meeting follows a divided July vote in which Dallas Federal Reserve President Lorie Logan joined two other officials in favoring a rate increase. The majority kept the benchmark rate unchanged. According to the Federal Reserve’s September calendar , the decision is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at 1 p.m. Central, followed by a press conference at 1:30 p.m. At its July 29 meeting , the Federal Open Market Committee voted 9–3 to maintain the federal funds target range at 3.5%–3.75%.
