The unemployment rate in Kyrgyzstan is currently around 3%, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Choro Seyitov, told at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh’s Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Subsoil Use, and Environmental Protection, Kabar reported. Responding to a question from MP Umbetaly Kydyraliev about the unemployment rate, Choro Seyitov stated that the figure is around 3%. Umbetaly Kydyraliev noted that five years ago, the unemployment rate was 5.5%, and attributed the decline to the opening of new jobs and businesses. The average wage was also raised at the meeting. According to Choro Seyitov, it currently stands at approximately 45,000–49,000 soms. "Previously, it was 17,955 soms.
