(RTTNews) - The South Korea stock market ticked higher again on Thursday, one session after ending the two-day winning streak in which it had picked up almost 50 points or 2 percent. The KOSPI now sits just beneath the 2,600-point plateau although it may turn lower again on Friday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is soft on ebbing optimism over the outlook for interest rates. The European and U.S. markets finished slightly lower and the Asian bourses are expected to follow that lead. The KOSPI finished slightly higher on Thursday following gains from the financial shares and mixed performances from the industrial, technology and chemical companies. For the day, the index perked 4.80 points or 0.19 percent to finish at 2,599.16.
