Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to reiterate Ukraine’s willingness to engage in a mutual energy strikes moratorium in line with US President Donald Trump’s recent statement regarding a strikes moratorium. Trump stated on September 14 that Ukraine and Russia have agreed to not strike each other’s energy infrastructure but did not provide further details.[1] Zelensky responded that Ukraine proposed a potential agreement to its partners in which Ukraine would halt strikes against Russian food, energy, and other critical infrastructure if Ukraine’s partners can ensure that Russia would reciprocate the same terms.[2] Zelensky stated that Ukraine “expect[s] specifics” from its partners regarding this proposal.
