The superpowers designed and built satellites, manned capsules, orbital spacecraft and long-endurance space stations, and NASA even sent the Apollo landers to put men on the Moon. Today, the space race is heating up again, but in a very different way. Yes, the governments are still involved – NASA's Artemis program is targeting the Moon, the Russians have a Soyuz escape ship docked at the International Space Station, and other powers such as the EU, China, and India have large-scale space programs.
