The State of Missouri’s Jobs report for August has been released. The report shows Missouri’s non-farm payroll increased by 2,100 jobs, private industry employment increased by 2,400 jobs, and government employment decreased by 300 jobs. Missouri’s smoothed seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased in August 2026 to 3.5 percent. That is one half of a percentage point lower than August 2025. The monthly unemployment report for August, with a breakdown by county, will be released on September 25 th .
