Taiwan Stock Market Poised To Open Under Water

(RTTNews) - The Taiwan stock market on Wednesday snapped the four-day losing streak in which it had dropped more than 1,650 points or 3 percent. The Taiwan Stock Exchange now sits just beneath the 45,850-point plateau although it may hand back those gains on Thursday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is soft after the U.S. Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the first time in three years. The European markets were up and the U.S. bourses were down and the Asian markets are expected to follow the latter lead. The TSE finished modestly higher on Wednesday as gains from the glass and transportation companies were capped by weakness from the financial sector. For the day, the index improved 337.41 points or 0.
