The United States will extend visa sanctions on Palestinian Authority (PA) officials and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), its State Department said on Wednesday, ahead of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in New York. This was "as a consequence of their failure to reform, contrary to their commitments to the United States and their ongoing activities that undermine the prostects for peace," the department said in a statement. The PA and PLO had "once again, failed to live up to their commitments," it added.
