Stocks Settle Lower as Crude Prices and Bond Yields Surge

E-mini S&P futures (ESU26) fell -0.44%, and September E-mini Nasdaq futures (NQU26) fell -0.61%. Stock indexes settled lower on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrials falling to 6-week lows. Stocks are under pressure as elevated crude oil prices raise inflation expectations and push bond yields higher worldwide. Crude prices surged by more than +4% on Tuesday, pushing the 10-year T-note yield to a 19-year high of 5.04%.
