New Flyer Wins $93 Mln Order From Houston METRO For 100 CNG Buses

(RTTNews) - NFI Group Inc. (NFI.TO), a bus and motorcoach manufacturer and provider of aftermarket parts and services, on Thursday said its subsidiary New Flyer of America Inc. received an order from Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO) for 100 Xcelsior 40-foot compressed natural gas (CNG) buses. The order, valued at approximately $93 million, was added to New Flyer's firm backlog in the second quarter of 2026. It is supported by funding from the Federal Transit Administration's 2025-2026 Low- or No-Emission (Low-No) Program and Bus and Bus Facilities Projects. The new buses will replace aging vehicles and support lower-emission transit services across the Houston region.
