U.S. stocks bounced back Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average adding 250 points, or 0.5%, as softer oil prices and a pullback in Treasury yields allowed investors to recover a portion of the prior session's steep declines. The S&P 500 rose 1% and the Nasdaq Composite added 1.3%. Technology stocks were the day's standout performers. Nvidia and Amazon each climbed 2%, and Microsoft posted a 1% gain. Applied Materials, Qualcomm, and Intel rounded out the tech sector's strength, rising 2%, 4%, and 3% in turn. Outside of tech, Caterpillar moved up more than 2%. The 10-year Treasury yield retreated to 4.
