Nevada unemployment rate falls to 4.8% in August - KSNV

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Nevada’s unemployment rate dipped in August as the state added jobs over the month and continued to post gains from a year ago, according to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s August 2026 economic report. Compared with July 2026, Nevada’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 4.8 percent. Over the same period, the labor force decreased by 5,951. The seasonally adjusted total number of nonfarm jobs in Nevada was 1,619,400. That represents an increase of 1.3% over the past year and an increase of 4,400 jobs since July 2026. In the Las Vegas metropolitan area, seasonally adjusted employment increased by 7,000 jobs, or 0.6%, since July.
