Reuters reports this, citing information from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, military intelligence, and military analysts. According to military analysts at the Office of the Prosecutor General, 48N6 missiles (a variant of the RM48U) accounted for more than half of the 228 ballistic and hypersonic missiles launched at Ukraine in July and early August. It is noted that the RM48U (the name derives from the Russian term “target missile”) travels along a ballistic trajectory at high speed. At the same time, this missile is inferior in power and accuracy to the “Iskander”—Russia’s primary short-range ballistic missile.
