by Timothy McQuiston, Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Department of Labor reported today that the seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment rate for August was 2.6 percent. This reflects no change from the prior month’s revised estimate. The civilian labor force participation rate also held steady in August, remaining at 62.1 percent. The Labor Force and Employment, which had been losing upwards of 1,000 workers a month, had a more modest adjustment, down -167 and -113, respectively. Still, they are down -10,138 and -9,751 from a year ago. Unemployment in August was down -54 in August and down -387 from last year.
