LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT) - Arkansas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped slightly in August as more people found jobs. The Arkansas Department of Commerce, in conjunction with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, reported that August’s unemployment rate fell one-tenth of a percentage point from 4% in July to 3.9%. The national jobless rate remained unchanged at 4.1%. According to Friday’s news release, the state’s civilian labor force rose by 192 in August, with 1,972 more people employed and 1,780 fewer unemployed residents actively seeking work. There are 22,140 more employed Arkansans than in August, 2025. Nonfarm payroll jobs rose 12,200 in August, mostly due to seasonal hiring.
