Beaumont Lamarre-Condon, a former police officer accused of killing his ex-partner and his new boyfriend in 2024, had developed a "jealous infatuation", a Sydney court has heard on the first day of his trial. Lamarre-Condon, 31, has pleaded not guilty to two charges of domestic violence-related murder and one of aggravated break and enter. Police allege Lamarre-Condon used his work-issued gun to shoot Jesse Baird, 26, a TV presenter, and Baird's new partner Luke Davies, 29, a Qantas flight attendant, at a home in the Sydney suburb of Paddington. The couple's bodies were found in a rural area 200km southwest of Sydney, hidden in surfboard bags. The trial is expected to run for three months.
