Taliban says three killed in new Pakistan airstrikes on Afghanistan

Pakistan conducted airstrikes on northeastern Afghanistan on Monday on what Pakistani security officials described as militant hideouts, resulting in some deaths. The Taliban government in Kabul claimed that three people were killed as it accused Pakistan of bombarding "civilian homes," while the Associated Press news agency cited two unnamed Pakistani security officials as saying that 28 suspected militants were killed. Afghanistan's deputy government spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat said that the strikes took place in the Kunar and Paktika provinces.
