Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT) has unveiled the AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile (JATM), a classified next-generation air-to-air weapon designed to provide greater range and effectiveness against advanced threats such as China's J-20 fighter. The missile will be integrated with the F-22 and F-35, while Lockheed has signed a framework agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense to accelerate production and prepare for a multiyear procurement program. Australia has already committed roughly $521 million to JATM, although the missile's quantity and unit price remain classified. The announcement comes as the U.S. and its allies seek to replenish missile inventories following the depletion of stocks during the Iran conflict.
