Macron pushes for energy truce between Ukraine and Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron has called for a moratorium on energy sector strikes between Ukraine and Russia on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York on Monday. Following a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in New York, the French president said on X they had discussed pooling efforts “to secure a moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure.” Macron also discussed “the prospect of an energy truce” with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later on Monday evening.
