Flooded streets and rescues as Typhoon Dujuan hits Japan

Footage from Japan shows flooded streets and rescue efforts after Typhoon Dujuan brought torrential rain to the Tokyo region, leaving at least four people dead and six missing. The storm triggered landslides in residential areas of Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures, swamped roads and caused flight cancellations and wider transport delays as it moved along eastern Japan’s Pacific coast on Monday. Officials confirmed the deaths and missing persons on Tuesday as search and rescue teams worked in affected neighbourhoods. Thousands of homes were left without power as the typhoon dumped record-breaking rainfall around Tokyo, disrupting travel across the capital region.
