Taiwan Stock Market Due For Consolidation

(RTTNews) - The Taiwan stock market has moved higher in five straight sessions, collecting more than 1,100 points or 5 percent along the way. The Taiwan Stock Exchange now sits just above the 22,760-point plateau although investors figure to lock in gains on Thursday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is negative, with many of the overbought regional bourses likely to see profit taking. The European and U.S. markets were mostly lower and the Asian markets figure to follow that lead. The TSE finished sharply higher on Wednesday following gains from the financial shares, technology stocks and plastics companies. For the day, the index soared 329.82 points or 1.47 percent to finish at 22,761.60 after trading between 22,569.29 and 22,785.32.
