At least 11 people, including a pregnant woman, have been killed after armed men stormed a house in a township in the South African city of Durban. The attack took place late on Tuesday, according to Thamsanqa Ntuli, the premier of KwaZulu-Natal province, of which Durban is the main city. Assailants entered the home shortly before 11pm (21:00 GMT) while the victims were gathered at a house party. Two people survived the attack, Ntuli said, adding the motive behind the killings was not immediately clear. “The incident has left the community in profound shock and grief,” he said. Local broadcaster eNCA reported that the attackers forced everyone into a single room before opening fire. They also set fire to a car belonging to one of the victims.
