The S&P Global Eurozone Manufacturing PMI held steady at 52.7 in September 2026, according to flash data reported by Trading Economics , coming in marginally above the market expectation of 52.6. Manufacturing output stayed firm, with the Output Index edging up to 53.4 from 53.3, marking its strongest reading in 55 months. Support for the expansion came from a renewed rise in new export orders, while employment was broadly unchanged. Companies raised purchasing activity for a second straight month, though the pace of increase remained modest. The pickup in input buying helped firms keep pre-production inventories broadly flat, ending a run of declines that had lasted since February 2023, and stocks of finished goods were also stable.
