The app previously hit No. 1 in News and, at launch, soared as high as No. 4 across the entire App Store. More and more Americans are gravitating to the app because they want the news straight from the source, not filtered through networks that have spent years distorting the record of President Donald J. Trump. That demand is rising as legacy networks fall in line behind CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, outlets whose White House credentials were pulled after a long record of false reporting. Other networks have now withheld pool coverage in solidarity.
