(RTTNews) - The Thai stock market has moved higher in five straight sessions, collecting almost 50 points or 3.1 percent in that span. The Stock Exchange of Thailand now sits just above the 1,610-point plateau although it's likely to open to the downside on Thursday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is negative thanks to a rebound in crude oil prices and a spike in treasury yields. The European and U.S. markets were down and the Asian bourses are expected to follow that lead. The SET finished modestly higher again on Wednesday following gains from the consumer, industrial, property, service and technology sectors. For the day, the index added 6.26 points or 0.39 percent to finish at 1,610.70 after trading between 1,602.86 and 1,612.70.
