Walmart (NASDAQ:WMT), the global retailer building a data business alongside its stores, is turning Scintilla from an analytics product into a supplier operating tool. Shares fell 1% to $109.28 at 11.36am ET Time on Thursday morning. At its Inspire event, Walmart said Scintilla will combine first-party and Marketplace data next year, while its Marty assistant will answer questions using Walmart's data. More than 2,000 suppliers and merchants attended, and the company showcased nearly 30 use cases. But Walmart disclosed no subscriber count, pricing or Data Ventures revenue in its announcement.
