TVA raises rates for data centers, adding upfront fee for new and existing facilities - WAFF

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WAFF ) - The Tennessee Valley Authority is raising rates on all new and existing data centers, officials announced Thursday night. TVA officials, along with Huntsville Utilities leaders, presented the rate change to the Huntsville City Council to have it officially amended on the city’s books. TVA received approval to change its wholesale rate structure by October 1, applying only to data center customers. Rates are going up 10% to accommodate the cost to the system of supplying data centers. Data center customers will also have to pay an upfront fee.
