China EV exports surge 33% in August; Belgium and Australia top single-country destinations

China’s global exports of electric vehicles rose 33% Y/Y in August to 284,622 units, bringing year-to-date total exports to 2.11M vehicles (+53% Y/Y), according to Bloomberg reporting citing China Customs data. As per the report [https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-09-25/china-s-global-ev-exports-rise-33-y-y-to-284-622-in-august], Belgium retained its position as the single largest country importer of Chinese EVs during the month, with shipments surging 76% Y/Y to 32,538 units (213,001 units YTD). Australia followed as the second-largest destination with 22,067 units (+106% Y/Y), while Brazil recorded significant growth, jumping 353% Y/Y to 20,154 units.
