U.S. backs Elon Musk’s challenge to EU’s €120M fine on X

[New social media apps formerly twitter x and threads on smart phone screen] hocus-focus The U.S. government is set to intervene in Elon Musk’s legal challenge against the European Union’s €120M ($136.5M) fine on X, adding Washington to the dispute over the bloc’s digital regulations. The U.S. Department of Justice filed the request with the EU’s General Court supporting separate challenges by X and Musk seeking to overturn the European Commission’s December 2025 decision. The Commission imposed the fine jointly and severally on X and Musk for violations of the Digital Services Act.
