Chinese Communist Party (CCP) General Secretary Xi Jinping met with US President Donald Trump in Washington, DC, from September 22 through 24. The People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the United States agreed to an extended trade truce, with both sides praising positive US-PRC relations. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with PRC Vice Premier He Lifeng on September 23.[1] The United States and the PRC agreed to extend the trade truce two months beyond the original November 10 end date.[2] Bessent also reported that the United States may be open to considering a more comprehensive US-PRC trade deal.
