JHVEPhoto/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Toys "R" Us is making a strong brick-and-mortar move into the holiday season with a plan to open 120 new standalone stores in the U.S. The rollout will bring the toy chain's standalone footprint to 160 stores, up from about 40 existing locations. Toys "R" Us also operates branded shops inside Macy's (M [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/M]) stores. The expansion is being executed with Go! Retail Group, which is a specialist in seasonal and experiential retail formats. The store expansion builds on the prior strategy of Toys "R" Us of staying relevant with 24 holiday pop-ups and airport activations over the last few years. The permanence and exact format of each site have not been fully detailed.
