Total employment in August 2026 rose by 4,000, or 0.03 percent, to 11,655,000, according to the Manpower Survey Results in August 2026. The survey, released by the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, also showed that employment was up 14,000, or 0.12 percent, compared with the same month a year earlier. By sector, agriculture and the services sector added 2,000 and 4,000 jobs respectively in August, gains of 0.53 percent and 0.05 percent. The industry sector shed 2,000 positions, a decline of 0.07 percent. On an annual basis, agriculture and industry employment fell by 15,000 and 8,000, or 3.03 percent and 0.21 percent, while services employment increased by 37,000, or 0.52 percent.
