AI boom’s biggest risk may be the money spigot running dry

For now, money is still pouring into AI companies, chips and data centers. That flow of capital may be the most important thing for investors to watch, The Wall Street Journal reported. The AI buildout faces plenty of potential obstacles, including power shortages, uncertain demand, rising borrowing costs and competition among model developers. But the more immediate threat could come if investors become unwilling to keep financing companies that require enormous amounts of cash before reaching profitability. Much of the AI ecosystem is financially interconnected.
