[Walmart storefront] Walmart (WMT [https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/WMT]) continues to grow out its Neighborhood Market concept, with the latest store opening last week in Mesquite, Texas. Notably, the Lone Star State has been a focal point for the retail giant. Over the past five years, Walmart has invested more than $2.5B in Texas stores and plans to remodel 72 locations across the state in 2026. Walmart Neighborhood Market is the company’s smaller, grocery-focused store chain, designed for quicker trips than a Supercenter. It began with three stores in Arkansas in 1998, including one at the company's home city of Bentonville. The stores emphasize fresh food, household essentials, and pharmacy services, alongside pickup and delivery.
