European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said the euro zone economy remains resilient despite an energy shock, while warning that higher energy prices are pushing inflation higher and creating risks for growth. Euro area headline inflation rose to 3.2% in August from 2.9% in July, while energy inflation climbed to 14.3%. Lagarde said the ECB raised its key interest rates by 25 basis points earlier this month and would continue assessing inflation, underlying price pressures and the impact of monetary policy on borrowing costs and economic growth.
