According to a company press release and regulatory filing, Desai stepped down effective immediately, prompting the board to appoint former chief executive Dev Ittycheria as interim president and CEO while retaining an executive search firm for a permanent replacement. Ittycheria previously led MongoDB from 2014 to 2025, a period during which annual revenue grew from approximately $35 million to more than $2.3 billion, the company said.
