(RTTNews) - The Australian stock market is slightly higher in choppy trading on Tuesday, extending the gains in the previous two sessions, following the broadly positive cues from Wall Street overnight. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index is moving well above the 8,800 level, with gains in financial and technology stocks nearly offset by weakness in mining stocks. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index is gaining 3.00 points or 0.03 percent to 8,826.40, after touching a high of 8,832.90 earlier. The broader All Ordinaries Index is up 0.60 points or 0.01 percent to 9,027.50. Australian stocks closed notably higher on Monday. Among the major miners, BHP Group and Fortescue are edging down 0.3 to 0.
