August’s jobs report was surprisingly strong. It showed the economy added more than 162,000 jobs, up from just 21,000 in July, and 31,000 in June. With a bunch of new jobs data coming out this week, Justin Wolfers from the University of Michigan will be looking for answers. “The big question is: Was that a blip, or was that the data trying to tell us that things weren’t so bad?” Wolfers said. “The most important thing is not to overreact to any one number.” We’re about to get a whole lot of economic data for August and September.
