Brazil unemployment rate falls to record-low 5.3% - Valor International

Brazil’s unemployment rate fell to 5.3% in the three months through August, the lowest rate ever recorded for the period. The rate was down from 5.6% in the previous three-month period, through May, and from 5.6% in the same period of 2025. In the three months through July, the unemployment rate was also 5.3%. The figures come from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (PNAD Contínua) , released Tuesday (29) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) .
