OpenAI (OPAI.PVT) CEO Sam Altman launched the company's newest product during its OpenAI DevDay on Tuesday: Dots. A high-powered AI agent, Dots is designed to perform tasks for you over long periods via connections to 4,000 apps via ChatGPT. For instance, you can tell your Dot to keep you updated on projects you're working on, add items to your schedule, and more. Powered by OpenAI's Astra model, the company says Dots can do things like recognize when an alert about a software bug comes in via Slack and begin digging into it. In another example, OpenAI says an early tester's Dot saw that they didn't submit an invoice for a publication. The Dot then set up the invoice and submitted it after getting the tester's approval.
