Poland changes rules for military aircraft to shoot down targets

Polish Deputy Minister of National Defense Stanisław Wziątek stated that the new regulations will significantly increase security in border areas, as well as for the pilots themselves. “A pilot should not be exposed to additional risk by approaching a target at a dangerous distance. Modern systems allow us to identify a target and make a decision to destroy it without visual contact,” said Wziątek. He also noted that the destruction of Russian missiles and drones over Ukrainian territory would require consultation with all NATO countries, as such actions would effectively mean entering into an armed conflict.
