Tokayev in Berlin calls Putin outstanding statesman and most acceptable political figure for Europe

Tokayev made the remarks during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin on Tuesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent. Tokayev said that he had very good relations with President Putin and considered him an outstanding statesman. He added that, in his view, Putin was the most acceptable political figure not only for Central Asia, including Kazakhstan, but also for Europe and the world, although he acknowledged that this view might sound surprising. He said that he was grateful to Putin for understanding his personal position on the war in Ukraine. According to Tokayev, all state leaders, including the Russian president, supported ending the hostilities in Ukraine.
