Germany has no plans to relaunch Nord Stream – Wadephul

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said this on Tuesday, September 29, in response to questions from members of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly in Strasbourg, according to an Ukrinform correspondent. “The federal government has no plans to restart Nord Stream. We became far too dependent on Russia, and it was a mistake. We cannot allow that to happen again,” Wadephul stressed. He was responding to a question about the possible resumption of Russian gas supplies through the Nord Stream pipelines, an issue previously raised by representatives of the opposition right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
